The brief was to design an international South African museum and gathering facility in the South African capital of Pretoria. The concept was to excavate much of the hill to accommodate the museum. The history of South Africa is displayed along the slow sweeping upward spiral reaching the pinnacle though a cascade of water. The gathering space is situated on the roof of the building with views over the city.
